FAQ
What is the economic advantage of solar energy technology?
Installing solar energy systems is a global trend since solar technology becomes viable economically and technically. The solar installers get electricity bills reduction that might reach up to 100% as an economic advantage.
Saving amount depends on some factors and is measured commercially by LCOE, ROI, IRR, and estimated technically according to the productivity of your solar power system.
Sustainergy introduces solar power systems on your property, saves you money on your electricity costs in the residential sector, and avoids increasing the OPEX of your utility whatever is commercial or industrial.
What is the environmental advantage of solar energy technology?
Solar energy, like other renewable energy technologies, has a green environmental impact. Going solar minimizes greenhouse gas emissions, which contribute to the pollutants of the earth.
Solar power systems for the residential, commercial, industrial, and utility-scale are part of the decarbonization process to face climate change and overcome critical environmental issues.
How do solar panels work?
During the daytime, particularly within the peak sun hours, solar panels capture the solar irradiances that fall on the panels’ surface then transform them into DC direct current. Since most homes and businesses consume electricity from AC single or three-phase electricity sources, the inverter is a must to convert the DC to usable AC electricity.
How does the residential solar power system work?
The residential on-grid system consists of two main parts:
- The solar strings (rooftop/ground mounting) depend on the solar design.
- The Balance of the Solar System (BoS) includes the inverter and net metering device.
Does the solar system work during the nighttime?
It’s a myth saying that the solar system doesn’t work during the nighttime. The fact is that the solar system doesn’t PRODUCE electricity during the night. On the other hand, your electrical devices CONSUME electricity from the battery bank or withdraw the required amount of power from the electricity grid. The balance of the solar system (BoS) works over the daytime to adjust power production and consumption.
Are Chinese solar brands BAD quality?
Most of the solar panels’ buyers are wondering if the Chinese-made modules are high quality. We cannot say all of them, but at least the TOP FIVE TIER1 CLASS SOLAR MANUFACTURERS ARE CHINESE.
Most European and Canadian solar techs have production facilities in China because of the low-cost silicon raw materials, labor, transportation. These factors end up with an overall low production cost to sell the panels at very competitive prices comparing to other marketplaces.
To select high-quality china made solar panels, you must consider the following factors:
- Tier one solar panel.
- Grade A.
- Approved brand from national energy authority.
- Listed approved distributor.
- TUV certificates.
- EL images with serial numbers before the delivery.
- Stamped sales contract with clear conditions.
- IEC testing reports.
Will my solar system work on cloudy days?
No doubt that solar power system produces power while operating on cloudy or rainy days. The solar panels receive a much lower amount of irradiance on dark daytime comparing to the amount on sunny days.
The IV curves of most tier1 panels state that the amount of solar irradiation contacting the surface of the solar panel is one of the factors impacting the power productivity of solar power systems.
Theoretically, when solar irradiance is 1000 W/m² during sunny days under the standard test conditions, the solar panel peak out with the maximum. Power (P) since the Voltage (V) and Current (I) are at the highest. On the other hand, on cloudy days with under-level solar irradiance of 200 W/m², the power is low. The solar panel doesn’t stop generating electricity.
What is the expected lifespan of my solar power system?
Solar power systems by Sustainergy, in general, are quite resilient and can survive snow, wind, and severe environment conditions. Your solar power system’s various components will need to be updated at different intervals based on the lifetime of each, but your system should be able to provide electricity for another 25 to 35 years.
Are solar power systems economic sufficient?
There are three main advantages of adopting solar power systems, environmental, social, and economic. Mainly focusing on the economic benefits in the residential solar sector, the householders gain the following:
- Money-saving: from reducing/nonpaying electricity bills: a grid-tie or stand-alone, the end-user does not have to pay the electricity bills when the solar system covers 100% of the power consumption, or they pay for the lowest electricity segment because of the feed-in tariffs when the solar system covers 80%, 70%, or even 50%.
- Bankability: the householders can finance their solar project from a bank loan with a low or zero interest rate depends on the solar incentives in some countries.
